About the Seniors

Edinburgh Cricket Club participates in the Heidelberg District Cricket Association (HDCA) against the likes of East & West Ivanhoe, Heidelberg, Banyule, Rosanna and Greensborough in the inner North/North-East corridor. The HDCA has four 2-day grades and a 1-day grade. Edinburgh has teams entered in all grades.

The First and Second XIs play on the beautiful and spectacular Brunswick Street Oval with our Threes and Fours playing on the lovely, picturesque Alfred Crescent Oval ‘out the back’. Our One-day team plays at Cox Oval, Yarra Bend (near the Y.B. Golf Course).

Our Ones and Twos complete in HDCA’s top two grades. 8-teams compete in each of these grades which comprises of seven 2-dayers and seven 1-dayers for competitive parity. The Threes and Fours also play a few 1-day games throughout the season. All matches are played on Saturdays from 1.00-6.00 pm. 2-day games are played over two consecutive Saturdays, with 80 overs to be bowled per day.

We are a great social club with the boys taking cricket seriously on a Saturday and enjoying a couple of quite drinks thereafter. Also, throughout the year there are many organised social activities.

We are always eager to recruit players and would encourage any prospective player, of any ability, down to the Brunswick Street Oval nets on any given Tuesday or Thursday throughout the season, October through March.
